To THIS....in only a month.

It's hard to believe I've been a mom for a month. When I think back to what Jillian and I have both been through over the last 32 days it just amazes me. We've both come so far. She's not only traveled distance, she's learned(ing) to trust and find comfort in a new home with a new family. I on the other hand, have found patience I didn't know I would ever need and also reached emotional levels I couldn't comprehend only 33 days ago. I just love this kiddo to death and can't kiss and hug on her enough....for me. I think she feels it's enough, but I just keep on grabbing her up and crushing her in hugs and smothering her in kisses.
Now that the grass is growing, leaves are shading the yard, birds are singing and the weather is warm she spends loads of time in the backyard. She loves to climb the slope and attempt to run back down, usually ending up in a heap about midway, but she gets right back up and keeps on going for it. She has also learned that Luray, our Golden, loves sticks and after windy weather Jillian helps me clear the back yard. We then take the sticks to the woodchipper, which would be Luray. Luray takes the sticks out of her hand very gently and then munches them into twigs. Jillian just keeps giggling and tossing twigs at her until they are all in shreds. And don't worry I stand there the whole time, although not from concern, more because it's just so dang funny.
I start work on a broader scale this week so posting will continue to be intermittent. But I love that so many folks continue to check back with us. The support from family and friends has been beyond anything I could've hoped for. I've kept every card and note and a running log of gifts from everyone. There are many many Thank You notes still to be written. I just can't keep up. And that's a great problem to have. I want Jillian to see all of this one day and know how absolutely loved she is. This whole experience continues to be amazing.
Love to all, Anne
P.S. And a huge shout out to my wonderful fella, Frank. I couldn't have asked for a better partner and having you share this has been a blast.

Great Pictures! I'm so happy for and envious of you two :)
Anne,
so glad to hear & see that everything is going well for the two of you. Our family is adjusting to a toddler again. Our older children are loving it! Hard to believe we were in China only 1 month ago. Seems longer. Such a different world. Take care, email me sometime.
