This and that...

Well, I've had lots of emails asking about travel. I'm hoping to find out this week about approximate dates. The definite itinerary is at least another week out, I'm guessing. I'll post it as soon as I know something.

So what have I been doing the last month, since clearly I haven't updated my blog in a while? (And thank you to all those repeatedly reminding me of this). ; ) Well, I've been working my tail off to make sure I can leave my office, and know that all will be well. But, I'm actually more stressed about how I'm going to hold up without my clients, instead of them without me. It's been over 7 years since I was away from my desk for more than 5 days. But Bob (fellow advisor) will take good care of them, while Jillian will, no doubt, be taking care of me.

Fortunately, it hasn't been all work. I've also spent way too much time shopping and went from only one 18 month old outfit to about....well...a pretty full closet let's say,in less than a month. Since I am not a shopper, and generally think of it as a form of torture, this is quite the feat. AND I've found childrens consignment sales. Who knew! I was so out of my league this past Saturday at a GIANT church consignment sale here in Charlotte. I showed up with just my purse. So naive. But I quickly noticed that not only was there a line to get in, but everyone was holding rather large empty carrying sacks. I suspected they would not be empty long. So after a quick jaunt back to the car I got in line with my Harris Teeter grocery bags. Classy.

I found some really great bargains. My favorite was my child backpack. When new, they are over $100 easy. I got mine for $15. Slightly used, but in great shape. And since I'll, oh who am I kidding, Frank will really only be carrying her in it through the Fall, I felt like it was a steal. I also wondered aimlessly through rooms of toys. I didn't have a clue where to start and evidently it showed. A very nice lady took pity and helped me find some great developmental toys that will be great for Jillian. Also found some other wonderful items but I'll spare you.

In addition to working and shopping I've also cleaned out my closets from head to toe. I've culled the, almost never wear and oh I completely forgot I had that, down to just what I actually wear and use. My trunk is packed with items for Goodwill.

But the most fun I've had was my first baby shower. Very different being on the other side of things. All I had to do was show up, receive gifts and eat! Amazing concept. My girlfriends from college are just too generous. A little too generous perhaps, seeing as how they were very ambitious and felt I would be in need of four of the same booster seat. Yikes! Only 1 child at a time girls. ; ) Actually, I received many other wonderful gifts. Jillian has some great Aunties.

I have another shower this Friday evening so the fun continues.
