Well, it's official. Frank and I are engaged! I'm still in a pleasant bit of shock that my life has changed so much in the last 12 months. And there are more changes still to come as I'll be moving to Asheville in December or January. No wedding date has been set yet, but I suspect we'll wait until next spring. So much to do with the move etc... But, it will probably be small(ish), short and sweet.
I feel very fortunate to have found such an amazing partner. We make such a great team and knowing that he dove in head first when I brought Jillian home, while knowing there was a huge emotional risk, just made me love him even more. And I'm just crazy happy that she's going to have a dad.
And to top off the engagement, as if that wasn't enough, Jillian met her soon to be cousins, aunts and uncles from Frank's side. We attended his niece's wedding and Jillian and I met the whole clan last weekend, for the first time. It was such a great weekend and I still get a little choked up thinking about how welcoming they all were. They treated us as if we were already family. So now Jillian has met Frank's family, and a few cousins and an uncle from my side. We're hoping to get up to MD in September and introduce her to the rest of my crew. Poor girl will never get everyone straight. ; )
